HBS Welcomes Ann Carroll Bundy as Interim General Manager

The Historic Brass Society is happy to welcome our new Interim General Manager to the team. A performer and musical instrument industry specialist, Ann Carroll Bundy is a freelance artist and educator in the Boston area. A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Ann served as Principal Flute in the U.S.C.G. Band, touring internationally, performing for Presidential inaugurations, in ceremonial work for heads of state, and as a member of the U.S.C.G. Woodwind Quintet.

In her freelance career, Ann has performed as soloist with orchestras across North America, in addition to her work as a chamber musician. A student of Jim Walker, former Principal Flute of the L.A. Philharmonic, Ann earned her B.M. in Flute Performance from the University of Southern California, and completed post-graduate study at the Studio School in Kent, England where she was a pupil of Trevor Wye of the Royal Northern College of Music, and at Harvard University where she studied Celtic Languages and Literature.

Ann has spent nearly two decades in the musical instrument industry, voicing flutes for the Wm. S. Haynes Company, founded in 1888, and Verne Q. Powell Flute Company, founded in 1927. This work centers her love of vintage instruments and their stories, and their connection to the city of Boston’s instrument manufacturing history. In her free time, Ann enjoys playing traditional Irish music with her family, and spending time in nature.
