Arnold Myers helped organize numerous brass lectures and performances for HBS sessions at the 7th International Scientific Meeting for Sound and Musical Instrument Studies presented by ANIMUSIC. The conference (July 4-7, 2018)
presented in the Museu Jose Malhoa in the beautiful setting of D. Carlos Park in Caldas da Rainha, Portugual. Several pre-conference activities were held in Lisbon including a private visit at the Musical Instrument Museum as well as a visit to the National Coach Museum. At the Coach Museum one of the famous twenty silver baroque trumpets was brought out and conference participants were allowed to play the spectacular instrument. Also on display was the manuscript of trumpet fanfares on which those trumpets are believed to have been performed. Patricia Bastos was the main conference organizer and thanks must go to her for the wonderfully successful event.
